{"id":176,"date":"2013-03-02T15:58:32","date_gmt":"2013-03-02T15:58:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tildenave.com\/?page_id=176"},"modified":"2023-05-04T14:57:35","modified_gmt":"2023-05-04T14:57:35","slug":"almod-tart-pastry","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.tildenave.com\/?page_id=176","title":{"rendered":"Almod Tart Pastry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>In Advance:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the basis for my mixed fruit tarts<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preheat oven to 375\u00ba<\/li>\n<li>Butter a 9 inch cake pan and line with a circle of parchment paper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Ingredients:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>7\/8 cups whole, blanched almonds<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup sugar<\/li>\n<li>2 large eggs<\/li>\n<li>7 TB unsalted butter at room temperature, cut into 1 TB bits<\/li>\n<li>pinch of salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Recipe:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In processor with metal blade process almonds until finely ground.<\/li>\n<li>Add sugar, process 1 minute.<\/li>\n<li>Add eggs, process one minute<\/li>\n<li>Add butter, process one minute<\/li>\n<li>Spread into prepared pan and bake 20 to 25 minutes until deeply browned.<\/li>\n<li>Cool and remove from pan<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><em>Notes:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arrange any variety of ripe fruits over top in a decorative pattern. I use apple, kiwi, oranges, and strawberries. You can use raspberries alone, or strawberries- whatever appeals to you.<\/li>\n<li>Glaze: Melt 1\/4 cup peach or apricot preserves with 3 TBS lemon juice in a small saucepan, then strain through a sieve.
