{"id":270,"date":"2013-03-02T20:14:34","date_gmt":"2013-03-02T20:14:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tildenave.com\/?page_id=270"},"modified":"2023-05-04T15:03:40","modified_gmt":"2023-05-04T15:03:40","slug":"pesto","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.tildenave.com\/?page_id=270","title":{"rendered":"Pesto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Ingredients:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 cups firmly packed fresh basil leaves ( This is a LOT of basil)<\/li>\n<li>2 large cloves garlic<\/li>\n<li>2 TB grated parmesean cheese<\/li>\n<li>7\/8 cups extra virgin olive oil<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup pine nuts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Recipe:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Place basil,garlic, cheese, and olive oil in processor and mix at high speed.<\/li>\n<li>When thoroughly blended add pine nuts and process for 10 seconds more.<\/li>\n<li>Store in fridge in small containers for 4 weeks, or freezer for up to one year.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><em>Notes:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Taste to be sure pine nuts are not rancid- you&#8217;ll know. Store them in the freezer.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Variations:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pesto dip for chips:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Ingredients:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8 oz sour cream<\/li>\n<li>8 oz cottage cheese<\/li>\n<li>1 TB pesto<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp dijon mustard<\/li>\n<li>4 drops worcestshire sauce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em><em><strong>Recipe:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Combine well<\/p>\n<p>Pesto burgers<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Recipe:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Grill hamburgers until done. Mix together 1\/4 cup softened butter and 1\/4 cup roquefort cheese. Moisten with a splash of cognac. Spread over top of burgers. Drizzle with pesto. Serve on a bun with a thin slice of red onion<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Pesto potatoes<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Ingredients:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Bake potatoes until done. Cut them in half and scoop out, reserving skin.<\/li>\n<li>For each potato use 1 TB sour cream<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp pesto<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp butter<\/li>\n<li>S&amp;P to tast<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em><strong>Recipe:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Mash the potatoes and other ingredients together and put back into the skins.
